Fantasy Faire 2010: April 19th – 25th

Posted by Anouk Lefavre in

Today was the opening of the Second Life Fantasy Faire 2010 - the largest gathering of fantasy designers, enthusiasts and performers.
I didn’t resist and went there early this morning… not only because two of my favourite designers are displaying there but above all because our Empire has a booth in the Wings Wands & Wonders Sim!

As you stroll around the Fantasy Faire SIMs you are sure to find many shopping opportunities. Inside and outside shops you will find vendors and displays of all kinds of fantastical goods, clothing, prefabs, landscaping items, artwork, avatars etc.

KNIGHTING CEREMONY AND PARADE OF HONOUR

Posted by Anouk Lefavre in

Dear Readers,

You are all invited to attend a royal wide celebration of the Realm of Fayandria, Saturday September 24th, at Fayandria’s Port of Entry, in Duhallow (134, 15, 21).
Please find bellow the extensive programme for this wide event.

Knighting Ceremony and Parade of Honour Agenda:

- 6:00 to 6:15 am SLT - Squires to be knighted, peerage of the Realm, the Ministers, and any other interested souls gather in Duhallow Castle’s Throne room.

6:15 am SLT – ARRIVAL OF THEIR MAJESTIES. The Throne Room is called to stand as the King and Queen enter and advance to their thrones.

6:30 am SLT – THE KNIGHTING CEREMONY. The Queen stands to call the squires forward. Individually each squire will be called forward. The ceremony is as follows:
The Queen calls the squired name and the squire comes to stand at the foot of the stairs to be presented to the King by the Queen. The King will approach the squire and ask a question about loyalty and swearing allegiance. The Squire will reply. The King will ask the Squire to kneel, dub them, and then say something like "Rise Sir/Dame” Name" and be recognized a Knight of the Realm". While the Knight is returning to the group watching; the crowd will extend congratulations. **This will happen three times.

7:00 am SLT – PROCESSION FROM THE CASTLE. The King will make a closing statement and ask all present to follow the new knights in the parade of honour.
The King and Queen will walk out first, followed by the King’s sister, Princess Elizabeth and the Prince Consort.
The three knights will follow behind the Princess and Prince Consort.
The Minister of Defence at the time of their training will walk behind the knights. After the Minister of Defence, the vassal kingdoms royalties, any visiting royalty, the Ministers of the Realm and Admiral of the Navy join the procession
(Roughly in that order please. Do not get upset if the order gets tangled, just try your best. The goal is to get in a long line of twos or threes and make it to Duhallow town centre where we will pick up the others for the parade).

7:30 AM SLT – THE PARADE OF HONOR. The King and Queen will walk through Duhallow town square with the assembly from the throne room behind them. They and the throne room assembly will walk across the square and down the stairs leading to the Inn. The rest of the Realm will fall into the parade line after Lord Eragon and Lady Aynne have passed them.

AND WE PARADE!
We will decide the route as we walk, for if we have a lot of participants we may do a longer route, but the end goal will be the Arena.

7:30 to 9:00 am SLT – REALM WIDE CELEBRATION. (DJ in the arena and on the stream)

8:30 am SLT – FIREWORKS

Cleansing Ceremony at Vox Angeli Fortress

Posted by Anouk Lefavre in

The Queen's Wizard, Lord Trav Wachter held a beautiful ceremony to purge our land of the evil poison that fell upon us all, in Duhallow.

Several fellow Fayandrians fell very ill due to the contact with such poison; there is no report of death but such poison can even kill…
All who were in direct contact with this poison attended this ceremony, along side with many Fayandrians who wanted to show their support and contribute to strengthen the purging.

A lovely dance hosted by Lord Landscape Rosca, our prime Minister and Lady Ladyheart Janick, his wife, followed the Cleansing Ceremony.

Dilah Halostar and Trav Wachter got married yesterday

Posted by Anouk Lefavre in ,

Dilah Halostar and Trav Wachter exchanged vows yesterday evening. It was a beautiful celebration of Love that gathered the closest friends of the merry couple.
We, at the Duhallow Quill, wish all the happiness for both Dilah and Trav on their marriage; we hope they are the ones from the story that said - Happily Ever After…

«Love feels no burden, thinks nothing of
trouble, attempts what is above its
strength, pleads no excuse of
impossibility
It is therefore able to undertake all
things.»

Fayandrians, let us help paint SL purple

Posted by Anouk Lefavre in ,

Purple Day doesn't cost one red cent or one virtual linden. Instead you have the chance to show your support for the fight against cancer just by helping to turn SL purple.

On the first day of June, if you are going for a stroll with your sweetheart or if you are having a party with friends, wear a purple ribbon, toss on purple clothes, turn your house lavendar even - and yell out to the world that you support the fight in against cancer!

This idea came out of a Relay For Life meeting, where the subject was about giving support to those who are in the waiting stage in their fight against cancer, pointing out how hard anf scary that part is and how support from others helps so much.

When Jasmine, Zoie, Tari, Kat, Nikkie, Spaci, Jane - relay volunteers - started talking how in real life whole towns would turn purple to show support for the fight against cancer and thought it would be an awesome idea to do the same here in SL. Not everyone has money to give or even time to spend, but everyone can wear purple. Therefore, show your support and wear purple on June 1st. Help RFL make SL one colour and one World!

The Realm of Fayandria will turn pruple that day! A formal ball will take place and all guests are to wear purple. All proceeds will go to Relay for Life and all details will be advised closer to the date.

Let's party at the Inn... Every Tuesday!

Posted by Anouk Lefavre in

The most popular gatherings in the Realm of Fayandria, these days, are the parties held at the Duhallow Inn!

According to Ladyheart Janick, the Events Planner, «The fancy dress dances every Tuesday at 3pm SLT are going really well, and the outfits people have been wearing are absolutely fantastic!! There is a different theme every week too and also a L$500 prize for the best costume. WyldChild Raven is our regular DJ now and she plays a great variety of music and also likes to play requests from our guests. The attendance has been great as well; therefore I believe a good time is had by all. We just need more people to keep coming along!!»

For the record Lady DiLuna has won the “Warriors and Wenches” and also the “Gipsy Campfire” themed parties. Princess Jaelle has won the best costume at the Easter celebration party.

Be sure to dress up under the next party’s theme and you are guaranteed to have a joyful time among friends and who knows you may even win the prize for displaying the fanciest outfit! See you all, next Tuesday 3pm at the Duhallow Inn…

Garden Tea Party, Welcome Princess Mookie

Posted by Analia in ,

Scepterd has a new family member.
Yes, it is indeed true as you have above read. Queen Emileigh and Queen Marilyn were so happy that they decided to share this special moment and take the opportunity to introduce their lovely daughter to us all.
Their RH Queens, along with Lady Anouk and I, organized a tea picnic in their castle gardens to surprise and cherish Princess Mookie.
Pink was the colour chosen to give atmosphere to the occasion. A white gazebo with pink drapes was used as the main area to set the blanket with the warm and tasteful tea, with delicious sweets, baking goods and cakes. Queen Emileigh baked her own especially for her sweet princess.

Stories where told, particularly the one of how the princess and HRH met. All I can say is that it was "maternal love" at first sight! There was also "cow dance", a little bit of French conversation and of course quite a lot of sugar eating!

Princess Mookie’s friends attended the party (so adorable!), our own Lovely Princess Jaelle, as well as Lord Landscape, Lady Anouk, our healer Pandora , myself and some other Fayandria friends.
All the guests had a blast of time, laughing and chatting. The gathering lasted for two hours, but before everyone headed home, Queen Emileigh, along side with Princess Mookie shown us their new castle giving us a guided tour inside its walls and hallways.
It was a great day and an ideal time for this celebration
Welcome Princess Mookie to the family! Welcome to our hearts…

St. Patrick's - a full day of celebration in the Realm!

Posted by Anouk Lefavre in ,

Saint Patrick's Day, colloquially St. Paddy's Day or Paddy's Day, is an annual feast day which celebrates Saint Patrick (circa AD 385–461), one of the patron saints of Ireland, and is generally celebrated on March 17.

The day is the national holiday of Ireland. It is a bank holiday in Northern Ireland and a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland and Montserrat. In Canada, Great Britain, Australia, the United States and New Zealand, it is widely celebrated but is not an official holiday.

It became a feast day in the Roman Catholic Church due to the influence of the Waterford-born Franciscan scholar Luke Wadding in the early part of the 17th century, and is a holy day of obligation for Roman Catholics in Ireland.

Our Realm celebrated this day with a treasure hunt. The fortunate winners were Lady DilLunaVa Mai, first place, Lady Lea Kas, second place and last but not least, Lady RavenOhana Boa. They all found each a pot of gold.

In the evening, we all joined Ladyheart Janick at the Inn, in Duhallow, for a fun St. Patrick’s party. Everyone dressed up in green fancy costumes but Lord Meehaul Savon was unanimously considered the best dressed for the occasion.

A day of celebration to honour our Queen

Posted by Anouk Lefavre in ,

This week, we celebrated our King and Queen birthdays. While doing some research about the traditions of birthday celebration, we found curious information on an old German newspaper:
«The various customs with which people today celebrate their birthdays have a long history. Their origins lie in the realm of magic and religion. The customs of offering congratulations, presenting gifts and celebrating - complete with lighted candles - in ancient times were meant to protect the birthday celebrant from the demons and to ensure his security for the coming year».

«The birthday celebration was in honour of one's guardian angel or god, whose altar was decorated with flowers and wreaths; sacrifices were offered to the god of festival, friends offered congratulations and brought gifts.Great prominence was given the birthday parties held for the emperor, replete with parades, public banquets, circus plays, and the hunting of animals».

Yesterday, the citizens and friends of the Realm of Fayandria honoured our Queen with a whole day of festivities featuring Horse Races, Lunch with the closest friends and family, a Garden Tea Party with several members of the Queen’s Council and at the end of the day, a Royal Ball in Embersray, the Queen’s Home Keep. To conclude such a wonderful day, Lady Anuchis Dibou prepared a surprise… At dawn, a Piper player appeared on the top of the hill and offered timeless melodies to HRH Queen Fayandria.

It was a very emotional day, not only for Her Majesty but also for us all who greatly admire her as our generous friend and as our lovely queen.
